The Manhattan DA’s Office now has serious doubts about the woman who claimed she was raped by Greg Kelly.

An unidentified woman came forward yesterday morning claiming she was sexually assaulted by the 43-year-old co-host of local morning show Good Day New York and the son of NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly back in October of 2011.

Now investigators are leaning towards not filing criminal charges because they don’t believe her story.

According to the N.Y Post investigators “don’t buy her story,” saying “It sounds like a bunch of BS.”

One source said, “It sounds like she got caught [cheating] by her boyfriend, and then he forces her hand: ‘If you’re not lying, you better report.’”

The DA office’s main reason for not believing the woman’s story is the fact that she waited three-months before reporting the alleged rape to police.

N.Y. Post sources said last night that the woman doesn’t remember some details of what Kelly did to her — because she was so intoxicated — but claims she knows they had sex and she didn’t consent.

Investigators also have doubts that a rape victim would stay in contact with her supposed attacker, as the woman claims she did, the sources said.

“The length of time” the woman took to complain “is a problem,” the source said.

And “you don’t communicate with someone who raped you.”

Another law-enforcement source echoed the suspicion: “The fact pattern is very suspicious . . . It just reeks of BS.”

Kelly, through his lawyer, has been cooperating with the DA’s office, giving them text messages he exchanged with the woman after the encounter, which he hopes will help him avoid charges, sources said.

As for Kelly and his hosting duties on Good Day New York, Lew Leone, the general manager of the local Fox station, has confirmed that Kelly ‘has requested some time off’ while the investigation is underway.

The alleged assault took place on October 8th when Kelly and the woman, who is around 30, met and went for drinks at the South Street Seaport.

According to the New York Times, the two went to her office at a law firm in downtown Manhattan, where the assault allegedly happened.

She says that when her boyfriend found out about the encounter, he confronted Raymond Kelly at a public event, and the commissioner told him to write a letter detailing the allegations.

Kelly denies wrongdoing of any kind. His lawyer responded, “We know that the District Attorney’s investigation will prove Mr. Kelly’s innocence.”
