At just 19-years-old, the rap world lost another young man after Melvin Vernell III, aka Lil’ Phat, was shot and killed in a parking garage at the Northside Hospital’s Women’s Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

STORY: HE HAS A NAME: Rapper Lil Phat Shot To Death In Atlanta

Reminiscent of Slim Dunkin, another rapper who was gunned down in Atlanta, Lil Phat was just 19 at the time of his death and police say that they are searching for two black males who were seen fleeing the scene of the crime. Surveillance cameras from the hospital’s garage captured the two men running from the car Phat was sitting in.

A young life cut short, Lil Phat was on the verge of becoming a big name in the South and the youngest artist signed to Trill Entertainment before his tragic death. Here are a few things you should know about Lil Phat.
