Trayvon Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump and George Zimmerman’s lawyer Mark O’Mara both appeared on NBC’s Today Show this morning to discuss the recent release of countless pieces of evidence surrounding the shooting death of Trayvon on the night of February 26th.

When asked how he feels about the evidence being released, Crump said:

“First of all, we’re happy that all the evidence is out…Now everyone can see the totality of the evidence and interpret it for themselves.”

Crump downplayed injuries to Zimmerman; Trayvon, he said, “was fighting for his life” against “a man with a 9 mm gun. The best evidence, he said, was that police said the situation was ultimately avoidable.

Based on the evidence, Crump said:

“Whatever happened was because George Zimmerman made his decision to profile and pursue Trayvon Martin….You have to conclude that the only reason Trayvon Martin is dead is because George Zimmerman profiled him that night.”

Yesterday, droves of evidence were revealed to the public, including witness statements, autopsy reports, pictures of the crime scene, audio recordings and photos of Zimmerman’s injuries taken right after the shooting.

With many key pieces of evidence out, everyone can draw a clearer picture of what really happened the night Zimmerman killed Trayvon.
