Although he is the Olympian with the most medals in history, Michael Phelps might lose his London pieces as laying in hot water has gotten him in hot water with Olympic officials!
The 27-year-old swimmer was seen in new leaked pictures for his ad campaign with Louis Vuitton, which hit Twitter on August 13th.

This apparently violates Rule 40 that states that no athlete can participate in non-Olympic marketing campaigns between July 18 to August 15.

The pictures were set to be released on August 16th and there is no word on who leaked the pictures. If it was put out by LV intentionally, then Michael will be stripped of his 6 medals from the London games.
So far, Michael’s management has denied that they released the photos, which show one of him in a bathtub and one sitting on a couch wearing a suit. Both show a Louis bag on the ground to promote the line.
Michael could also be fined if he is in breach of Rule 40.
We hope that this situation is found to be a misunderstanding so that Michael does not have to lose his medals.
