Michelle Obama amazed the nation when she delivered a powerful and moving speech at the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday night. Michelle rocked the mic, highlighting President Obama’s character, values and the fact that he can relate to the hardships of middle class Americans because he’s been there, himself.

Michelle brought the house down by stressing that Obama is still the same man she fell in love with 23 years ago, reiterating that change is not something that happens overnight, but something that takes painstaking time and patience to accomplish.

Not only did she sound great, but she looked fabulous! MO sported a custom made sleeveless dress by African-American designer Tracy Reese, which showed off toned arms and shoes from J.Crew.

Needless to say, Michelle captivated us with her words, her delivery and her passion. Here’s a roundup of some of her most memorable moments from her speech:

Here in America, our grandparents should be able to afford their medicine. Our kids should be able to see a doctor when they’re sick. And no one in this country should ever go broke because of an accident or an illness.

I have seen firsthand that being president does not change who you are. No, it reveals who you are.

[Speaking of Barack] We were so young, so in love, and so in debt.

You see, even back then, when Barack was a Senator and presidential candidate, to me, he was still the guy who picked me up for our dates in a car that was so rusted out, I could actually see the pavement going by in a hole in the passenger side door.

For Barack, success isn’t about how much money you make. It is about the difference you make in people’s lives.

When it comes to the health of our families, Barack refused to listen to those folks who told him to leave health reform for another day. Another president. He didn’t care whether it was the easy thing to do politically. That is not how he was raised. He cared that it was the right thing to do.

[Barack] believes that when you work hard and done well and walk through that doorway of opportunity, you do not slam it shut behind you.

I love that we can trust Barack to do what he says he is going to do, even when it is hard, especially when
it’s hard.

[Barack] reminds me that we are playing a long game here, and that change is hard, and change is low and
never happens all at once, but eventually we get there, we always do.

And when my brother and I finally made it to college, nearly all of our tuition came from student loans and grants, but my dad still had to pay a tiny portion of that tuition himself, and every semester, he was determined to pay that bill right on time, even taking out loans when he fell short.

Michelle Obama’s speech ended the DNC on Tuesday night with a bang. We’ll see how Barack’s address will measure up come Thursday!
