During a conference call back in June, Republican nominee Mitt Romney encouraged business owners to influence the way that their employees should vote in the upcoming presidential election.

STORY: The Man Behind The Terror Plot To Kill Obama

In These Times reported the call, which is posted on the anti-union, conservative group the National Federation of Independent Business’s website. Romney says:

“I hope you make it very clear to your employees what you believe is in the best interest of your enterprise and therefore their job and their future in the upcoming elections. And whether you agree with me or you agree with President Obama, or whatever your political view, I hope, I hope you pass those along to your employees.”

Romney also notes that employers can legally use their political views to sway their staffers thanks to the Supreme Court’s Citizens United ruling.

He continued: “Nothing illegal about you talking to your employees about what you believe is best for the business, because I think that will figure into their election decision, their voting decision, and of course doing that with your family and your kids as well. I particularly think our young kids … they need to understand that American runs on a strong and vibrant business and we need businesses growing and thriving this country.”

Because of Citizens United, it’s been reported that several conservative business owners have used their power to influence and even threaten their staffers to vote Republican in the presidential election.

This has already been done by Real Estate giant David Siegel, as well as the billionaire Koch Brothers. What a shame!
