The New Orleans Police Department have relaeased a picture of the suspect in the Mother’s Day shooting.  19 year old Akein Scott is wanted by the police.  He is currently out on bond on an unrelated gun charge.  A SWAT Team went looking for him this afternoon, but he was not at the home they went to.  Here is a picture of Akein Scott:

Police have released surveillance video of one of the suspects in the shooting yesterday in New Orleans. The reward for any information leading to an arrest is $10,000. Call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.

According to CBS, police are looking for three suspects, one of which was described as a dark skin male, 18-22 years old with short hair, a white shirt and blue jeans.

All suspects are still on the loose and not in custody.

We sadly report, New Orleans’ Superintendent Ronal Serpas says that at least twelve people have been shot at a Mother’s Day second-line parade in the 7th Ward.

According to the WWLTV news:

The youngest victim in the shooting was 10 years old. Police believe three suspects  involved.

No word from police on a possible suspect or motive.

Police say the incident happened at around 2 PM at the intersection of Frenchmen and Villere street.

Reports say at least four people were in surgery mid-afternoon and patients had been taken to four area hospitals. EMS took nine people to University Hospital.

Eight of them with gun shot wounds: and three in critical condition. 

WWLTV reports, police say there were 200 people at the corner where shots rang out, and 300 to 400 people at the second line in all and two guns may have been involved.

Authorities also believe three suspects were involved and were seen fleeing toward Claiborne Avenue.
