Is this Todd Akin 2.0?

Rick Berg, a Senate Candidate for North Dakota, voted to criminalize abortion in the state as a Class AA felony, including in the case of rape or incest.

Yes, he voted to make abortion illegal even in cases of rape or incest. This guy is really hardcore.

STORY: Here To Stay! Todd “Legitimate Rape” Akin Won’t Step Down After Controversial Comments

According to documents obtained by Buzzfeed, we see the proposed legislation Berg voted for.

Berg, who is running against former Democratic Attorney General Heidi Heitkamp, voted with a minority of the state house in 2007 to make terminating a pregnancy illegal, in a bill that only made exception for when the life of the mother is endangered.

Berg was granted a coveted speaking slot at the Republican National Convention last week, just weeks after fellow Senate candidate Rep. Todd Akin drew bipartisan outrage for outrageously claiming that pregnancies don’t occur in cases of “legitimate rape.”

A few weeks ago, Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin said that women who are victims of what he called “legitimate rape” rarely get pregnant, which set off a wave of backlash. Now Berg is proposing that abortion be illegal in cases of rape and incest.

Ladies and gentleman, we give you the Republican party.
