STORY: Keep Fighting Eva, We Got Your Back!

Jay and Bey are longtime Obama supporters who have been riding with the president since 2008. Likewise, the President has expressed his admiration and respect for the stars.

He told told Colby Colb of Cleveland Z107.9:

“They’re good people…Obviously they’re unbelievably successful, but they really are down-to-earth folks. And we talk about the same things I talk about with all my friends.”

Obama also talked about the advice he offered Jay on raising Blue Ivy.

“They just had a new baby. …I made sure that Jay-Z was helping Beyonce out and not leaving it all to mom and the mother-in-law.”

POLITICO reports on the conversation that occured and one of the POTUS’ favorite Jay-Z songs:

Obama befriended the stars when “they were supporters back in ’08,” he explained. “Beyonce sang at our inauguration and Jay-Z did a bunch of get out the vote concerts….We’ve had them down to the White House.”

The President added that “Beyonce could not be sweeter” to the First Lady and his daughters who love her music.

As for his own iPod, Obama said he’s got “a bunch” of Jay-Z songs downloaded.

“Is ’99 Problems’ on there?” Colb asked.

“You know, I gotta say I go with some other stuff like ‘My First Song,’ which just kinda keeps me steady,” he replied. “It’s a great song. It reminds you that you always have to stay hungry.”

Damn, our President is just so cool.
