After a two-hour deliberation, a South African court finally granted double amputee Olympian Oscar Pistorius bail in the murder case of his model girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
“The accused has made a case to be released on bail,” magistrate Desmond Nair said during a bail hearing in South Africa.
The track star’s bail is set at 1,000,000 rand, which translates to about $112,000 USD. He has also been ordered to avoid his home, witnesses, and surrender his passports.
Pistorius won’t appear in court again until June 4.
