While most families are finalizing the garnishes on the stuffing and setting their tables, being thankful that Mitt Romney didn't snag this month's elections, President Barack Obama is busy showing thanks in his own way.
The 51-year-old President and his family decided to spend their holiday giving back to those who are less fortunate - with the help of his wife, daughters and members of the Oregon State men's basketball team, of which Michelle Obama's brother is coach.
The family handed out specially prepared packages, while a White House aide said that the bags contained carrots, apples, and season-appropriate sweet potatoes, all the makings for a healthy Thanksgiving.
The family has been volunteering their Thanksgiving time to the needy since 2008 and Obama encourages other families to do the same.
