Republican Presidential candidate Rick Santorum is facing heat from pro-choice advocates, after he gave an interview to CNN in which he said that rape victims who become pregnant should make the best out of a bad situation.

STORY: He Said What?!? Rick Santorum “I Don’t Want to Make Black Lives Better”

As you can tell, Santorum is very compassionate to the plight of rape victims. Santorum said that women in such a position should not get an abortion, but instead welcome their ‘horrible gift from God.’

In an interview on CNN with Piers Morgan, Santorum said:

“’Well, you can make the argument that if she doesn’t have this baby, if she kills her child, that that, too, could ruin her life.”

Santorum continued:

“And so to embrace her and to love her and to support her and get her through this very difficult time, I’ve always, you know, I believe and I think the right approach is to accept this horribly created – in the sense of rape – but nevertheless a gift in a very broken way, the gift of human life, and accept what God has given to you.

As you know, we have to, in lots of different aspects of our life we have horrible things happen. I can’t think of anything more horrible, but nevertheless, we have to make the best out of a bad situation and I would make the argument that that is making the best.”

God gives horrible gifts? Santorum’s rationale around this subject aims to the most extreme.  Watch as Rick Santorum tries to rationalize the plight of rape victims. What do you think?
