A man named James Tindell was arrested for robbery back in 2010, and avoided jail time by agreeing to attend drug treatment.

Instead of going to the treatments, he fled the state, but got caught through his Facebook statuses.

He wrote on his profile back in April:

Fresh out of another state. Catch me if you can.

He later went on a rant about the criminal justice system and signed it “the 1 who got away.”

Without thinking, he put up a status that said that he was in Alabama, and even posted a picture of a sonogram of his unborn son which hard the name of the county general hospital he was near in the state.

Apparently, his probation officer monitors the network and saw his posts.

When he figured out where he was, he issued an arrest warrant. He told the Daily Mail:

The way we found out where James Tindell was, was through Facebook,’ deputy district attorney Michael Schmidt said. ‘And, it’s not because we were super sleuths.

When James was pulled over for speeding, an officer ran his license and saw that there was a warrant.

Since then, James has been sentenced to 2.5 years in prison.

Be careful what you put on Facebook people!
