A young man is seeking retribution after being arrested by members of the New York Police Department in a incident that he’s calling “police brutality.”

Robert Jackson, 19, claims that he was an innocent victim of the attack on Jan. 8 when he was forced to the ground and kicked, resulting in a gruesome, crescent-shaped wound on his face.

The police department say the teen was “spewing profanities” and “ignoring requests to show his hands” outside a Queens youth center.

According to Gothamist, Jackson faces charges of “marijuana possession, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental administration,” but his lawyer, City Council candidate Jacques Leandre wants them all dropped.

In a press conference Tuesday, Jackson said that he couldn’t follow officers request to reposition his body because his arm was pinned underneath him during the arrest.

The NYPD released a statement regarding the incident:

“We are aware of the matter and have turned it over to the Civilian Complaint Review Board,” the statement read.

It is still unclear why Jackson was arrested in the first place.

Cue the lawsuit…this one smells fishy.
