Verdict Reached In Roger Clemens Perjury Trial (DETAILS)

Posted June 18, 2012 by The Decider for Global Grind Staff

Roger Clemens has been found not guilty in his perjury trial as a jury has granted the former pitcher a full aquittal.

Clemens was charged with lying to Congress in 2008 when he denied using steroids or human growth hormone.

The former pitcher faced a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison and a $1.5 million fine but would probably get only 15 months to 21 months under U.S. sentencing guidelines.

Clemens faces 6 counts total-

1 count of obstruction of Congress

3 counts of making a false statement

2 counts of perjury.

In a press conference after the verdict was announced, Clemens told reporters that-

"I put a lot of hard work into [my] career... I appreciate my teammates that came in & all the emails & calls"

Looks like Clemens has cleared his name after a long battle.
