It was a record breaking night as Russell Simmons, spiritual author Deepak Chopra and ABC Carpet & Homes CEO Paullete Cole helped President Barack Obama raise a cool $5 million bucks for his re-election campaign, the most Obama has raised thus far. The real hero of the night was Reshma Saujani, the Deputy Public Advocate of the City of New York, who helped raise a bulk of the money.

STORY: Power Moves! Uncle Rush Set To Chill With Barack Tonight!

As we reported yesterday, Obama stopped by Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s locavore eatery ABC Kitchen in the Flatiron District for an intimate fundraising dinner, then spoke at a glamorous gala held at ABC Carpet & Home, hosted by Uncle Rush and Deepak Chopra.

The house was rocking as Obama spoke at the ABC Carpet & Home showroom, where Parks and Recreation star Aziz Ansari hosted while the Legendary Roots crew jammed on stage supported by Ben Folds and Ingrid Michaelson.

In all, Obama collected a little over $5 million during his fundraising tip to New York; not bad for 7 hours of work and four events!
