Russell Simmons sure knows how to pick his friends. One of his best friends, GlobalGrind has just heard exclusively, has generously (AND anonymously!) put his money where his heart is by offering a $20,000 bounty for the person responsible for placing a pit bull puppy into a plastic bag and throwing it out of a moving car on Long Island over the weekend. Russell describes his pal as "a wealthy black businessman who cares deeply about animals."
The criminal at large most likely used the poor puppy as a bait dog in a dog fighting ring. Routinely, dogs who don't perform "well" (since dogs don't want to fight!) are killed. The malnourished puppy, named Joey, was screaming in pain when he was found. He has suffered a broken neck and bite marks were found on his body. Certainly, he will have a long road to recovery.
With The Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals offering a $2,000 reward and Russell's friend offering an additional $25,000 for information leading to the arrest of whoever did this unthinkable act to an innocent dog, we feel encouraged the perpetrator will be caught. Maybe it will even be one of you who collects the dough and good karma with one phone call? Here's to justice for Joey.
