Let this be a lesson to men, women always get the last word.

Texas resident Sarah Slamen was in the process of delivering testimony on Monday’s Senate hearing on a abortion bill when she was interrupted by a lawmaker, and to make matters worse, she was then dragged away from the podium by four DPS Troopers.

Sarah Slamen was finally granted the chance to make her argument last night on Last Word, where host Lawrence O’Donnell gave her plenty of time to say everything she was going to say to the Texas legislature before she was interrupted.

What I would say to all the Republicans on the Senate Health and Human Services Committee, is that I understand why you’re so careless with our health care. You see, all of your constituency lies east of I-35, where the five clinics remaining after that bill gets passed, will be. None of your constituents are west of I-35, so I guess the lives and their families just don’t matter to you.

Whether or not those women showed up to the hearings would probably end up mattering very little in the end: The Texas House today approved it’s version of the abortion bill, and the Senate will likely pass it’s version tomorrow.

North Carolina, Republicans passed a bill of their own on abortion restrictions but they decided to hide them in a bill aimed at motorcycle safety.
