Rondell Javon Smith, 30, was arrested after his son, Sincere Smith, died on Christmas Day. Smith, who is inconsolable about the death of his baby son, will be charged with involuntary manslaughter.

Smith has been let out on $500 bail, but he insists that no punishment is enough for having a hand in his sons death:

“Going to jail ain’t even enough,” he said. “Whatever’s coming to me is coming to me.”

The father had recently obtained the gun to protect his family from intruders.

While his wife, LaKisha Brown Smith, is distraught about the death of her son, she is standing behind her husband:

“If they just knew him and his kids. [Rondell] eats, breathes and sleeps his kids. My husband changed every diaper and made every bottle. He did everything for his kids,” she said.

She continued, describing little Sincere:

“He would sing and dance. He sang every song. He knew every song. He was very smart. He knew all of his colors and he knew how to count forwards and backwards.”

We are praying for this family.
