Street’s wife Cindy announced his death on Wednesday, saying the singer passed at a Las Vegas hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but Cindy Street says she expects services to be held in Cypress, Calif. next week.

Richard joined the group in the early 1970s and stayed with The Temptations until the mid 1990s. Cindy says of her husband:

“He was a really good person” who should be remembered for his work.

May he rest in peace.
