It has been over a month since Trayvon Martin was shot and killed by neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman, and the scene of the ghastly crime masked with false tales of self defense will not let the death of the 17-year-old go unnoticed.
Following country wide debates, rallies and protests seeking justice for the murder of Trayvon who was armed only with a black hoodie, a bag of Skittles and a can of Arizona Iced tea when he was shot and killed by Zimmerman at close range, community members have marked the scene of the crime with beautiful, yet sorrowful memorials.
Trayvon was visiting his father and fiancé at the gated community complex when he met his untimely death by the hands of the paranoid neighborhood watchman who still remains in hiding.
Since his death, members of the community and supporters seeking justice have cropped up multiple memorials marking the scene of the young man's death with flowers, balloons, photos and heartfelt messages.
We will continue to keep out hoodies up for Trayvon until justice is served in his senseless murder.
