Texas Congressman Ron Paul, who prides himself on being a caucus state campaigner, was a chief opponent of Romney's in Washington. The other candidates, who include Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, are still in the race.
Newt Gingrich has been campaigning heavily in his home state of Georgia. Santorum, who had a lead over Romney in national polls just weeks ago, seems to be losing his momentum; coming in at third place in Washington.
Next Tuesday is Super Tuesday and the candidates are campaigning heavily. The history of Super Tuesday shows candidates who come out on top securing their party's nomination.
On Super Tuesday there will be elections in Alaska, Georgia, Idaho, Massachusetts, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Vermont, and Virginia.
So far polls are showing Romney to be the clear victor for Super Tuesday. We look forward to seeing who will stand as a challenge against incumbent President Barack Obama.
