There are tons of questions we all have about the Boston Marathon bombing earlier this week, as well as about the shootout that took place between the police of Watertown, MA and the suspects.

Even though no one could really witness what went on besides the policemen themselves, they are still able to give us some insight.

Police chief Edward Deveau told CBS his thoughts on the bombing being a possible conspiracy, as well as what exactly happened the night of the gunfight.

He told CBS:

“I think it’s limited to the two brothers. Every information that I have been seeing, where we looked at Boston, Watertown, the greater New England area, is safe.”

Deveau recalls:

“He came from out under cover. Instead of walking to us, he seemed to be engaged with one of our officers and got within 10 feet. They were having a gunfight 10 feet apart. And then for us, thank God, he ran out of ammunition.”

The police chief like many are amazed no authorities were killed in the entire interaction. He says:

“I just wonder why I’m not attending a funeral for one of our police officers after what they went through and how we looked at that, and what they did. It’s just an amazing bunch of six guys.”

It was easy for the police to track the suspects down after they jacked a car, since the cell phone of the victim was inside the car still.

He continued:

“Eventually we were able to ping that phone and find out it was in Watertown and it was heading to a certain neighborhood in Watertown. So my first officer saw the cop.”

Law enforcement and all authorities did a miraculous job this weekend and we are proud of their work! Check out the chief’s recap in the video above!
