A Young Jeezy show in Toronto ended before it started when a man was shot three times inside the club early Thursday morning.
Around 1,800 fans were in attendance to watch Jeezy perform at the Sound Academy, located at 11 Polson St., near Lake Shore Blvd.E. and Parliament St., when a man was shot three times in the torso.
According to authorities, the shooting took place around 12:30 a.m., after the opening acts and before the headliner took the stage.
Sound Academy spokesperson Catherine Fowler said concert-goers heard the shots inside the venue but there was no evidence of gunfire or damage found.
Police attended the scene, but the victim was dropped off at a nearby hospital a while later by someone other than paramedics.
The victim, 26, is in serious but stable condition. There were no other victims, and investigators are still looking for suspects.
Jeezy later tweeted:
“Backstage @ Sound Academy in Toronto! Police closed venue and cancelled the greatest show!!! I will be back!”
Hopefully the victim recovers swiftly and safely.
