With the official release of the Nike Mag that Michael J. Fox wore in Back to the Future II, the only thing left to do is to re-release the car from the movie!
The DeLorean DMC-12 that transported Marty & Doc Back to the Future was originally released in 1981, but because of poor automobile sales was discontinued after only one year.
The original price tag of the DMC-12 was $25,000 ($650 more when equipped with an automatic transmission); this is equivalent to approximately $60,371 in 2011, however the 2013 model will be $90,000-$100,000.

You read correctly, the DeLorean will be re-released in 2013 and DMC Motor Company plans on working with electric car start-up Epic EV to get an all-electric DMC-12. Early reports say the Electric DeLorean will have a maximum speed of 125 miles per hour, boast 260 horses, just enough to keep you on the road without accidentally driving into the future.
The DeLorean DMC-12 hasn't been in production for over three decades, but the Back to the Future series of movies and a few other companies and musicians have helped to keep it in the foreground of the people's memory.
Take a look at some of the times when the DeLorean DMC-12 has been used in popular culture in the gallery, as well as some of the music videos that the DeLorean DMC-12 has been featured in after the break!
