The two teenagers approached the top selling quartet - which featured Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burress and the First Lady Of The South Tameka Harris - as they practiced one of their songs acapella.
Gosling and JT are convinced the group came up with their name by literally escaping a Michael Bay-esque espionage plot.
But the ladies set the boys straight and explained that their name was inspired by their desire to ‘escape’ all stereotypes. Still, the boys ain't buyin' it!
Ironic how 20 years later, these stars are all still relevant figures in pop culture today.
