Tracy Morgan Too Real For NY? Crowd Walks Out Show

Tracy Morgan Too Real For NY? Crowd Walks Out Show

REACTION?

The bawdy comedian packed the venerable performance venue with fans expecting his “30 Rock” character’s prime-time humor. But minutes after Morgan started his routine, many walked out in disgust.

“People seemed to not be laughing at his jokes, but more because they were shocked and appalled with what was coming out of his mouth,” reports one audience member. Morgan talked trash about homosexuality (saying it’s “a choice,” which drew gasps), drugs, pornography and what he calls “politricks” — far edgier subjects than what his alter ego, Jordan, gets air time for.

“There was a continuous flow of people getting up and leaving throughout the show,” our spy reports, adding that many in the crowd clearly didn’t know what they were getting themselves into. Middle-aged women were the most flabbergasted when he started mimicking explicit sex acts on stage.

  • It may be hard to believe but Tracy Morgan started out as a comedian not on the damn 30 Rock show!! He will always be a comedian after that wack as show is gone...Keep doing ya thang thang Tracy I laugh everytime I get a chance to see you in concert...
  • He and George Wilborn should be banned from the stage.
  • Chapplle worse than any comedian this shocking
  • I heard some of Redd Foxx's records, but the were mainly inuenndo about sex. I love Sanford & Son, and I went to see him in Vegas. The room was packed with all this elderly people from the midwest and the south, I am sure they were expecting Fred Sanford.

What they got was some of the dirtiest comedy I'd ever heard, and I am a huge Richard Pryor fan. But Foxx was just vulgar for the sake of shock value.

I think entertainers should work to their audience, in a particular venue. The Temptations don't do the same show in Vegas, that they do in the Greek Theatre, and so on and so on.
  • I was at the sold out show on Friday at Carnegie Hall and I must say Tracy Morgan is so funny..... I cracked up the whole time.. I brought my uncle with me for his bday and he cracked up the whole time.. Maybe because he is now in mainstream as an actor/comedian they wanted his jokes to be watered down..But he was his original self.. He told jokes as if he was on the corner, def jam, carolines, or any where else.. He kept it funky.. And like he said if you want to see the water down Tracy watch me on T.V. Furthermore I did not see many people walking out the show that is a lie..
  • You've got to know your audience.
