Posted December 19, 2011 by Cacy Forgenie for Global Grind Staff

Now that North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il has kicked the bucket - he suffered a heart attack at 69 while traveling by train over the weekend - how will American comedians make fun of failing communist governments?

STORY: Kim Jong Il Is Dead

Dictator Kim Jong, a film buff who was believed to be in the possession of over 20K films, has been parodied by the best, most recently by Korean-American comedian Margaret Cho on the hit NBC series 30 Rock

Cho's portrayal was pretty spot on. We hope she'll return to the beloved series so that the story line of Jack Donaghy's (Alec Baldwin) wife who was captured by the North Korean government, re-educated and forced to star in a propaganda videos, will continue!

Below are some more of our favorite parodies, including The Simpsons and Mad TV.

On Twitter over the weekend it wasn't 30 Rock which was trending after news of Kim Jong's death. Rather, it was #TeamAmerica, the Matt Stone and Trey Parker puppet film which parodied the tiny dictator. A clip from the film, about Kim Jong's terrorist plot to destroy the world, is below. Enjoy!
