Katy Perry may be a self-proclaimed California girl, but she showed up on the Billboard Music Awards red carpet looking like a goddess of the sea.

Katy sauntered down the music awards' red carpet sporting her latest look of ombre purple hair, and a deep purple lipstick that Ursula would envy.

The little pop star mermaid donned a pastel purple gown that looks like something Barbie Ariel would wear. The gown boasted an open back and cascading mermaid bottom.

There was one thing missing from Katy's ensemble, a strapping prince, but that's OK because the pop star decided to bring someone a lot dearer to her on the red carpet; her adorable grandmother.
