February has begun, which means it is now Black History Month.
Although most people start with civil rights leaders when they think of Black History Month honorees, we have to admit that the world of fashion has also had quite a few people who should also be honored.
While the fashion industry is predominantly controlled by a white point of view, there have been a few black faces that have managed to break in and gain the respect of all of their peers.
The youngest name on the list, Olivier Rousteing, has creative direction over the French fashion house of Balmain and has continuously put out amazing collections since he was appointed as Creative Director in 2011.
Tracy Reese who has been making strides in the world of fashion since 1998 has garnished so much respect for her designs that in 2007 she was inducted as a board member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
Also included in our list of great black designers are our very own Kanye West and suit maker Ozwald Boateng who is a favorite of Jamie Foxx.
