No, you're not seeing things! That really is Chris Brown smiling on a red carpet.

For the first time in months, Breezy himself stepped onto the red carpet, this time for the American Music Awards 40th Anniversary being held at the Nokia Theater in L.A.

Keeping to his normal look, Chris rocked a black hooded sweatshirt and leather jacket (hoodie up, of course) paired with a white tee and leather pants. With all white sneakers and gold jewelry to match his gold shades, Chris looked happy and relaxed in front of the cameras, we're happy to say.

After Chris announced earlier this year that he wouldn't be conducting any interviews, it's great to see Chris back on the red carpet and embracing the spotlight, having spoken to Terrence J for E! and Prestige Magazine earlier this month.
