An Exclusive with Def Jam Rapstar: Misnomers

First there was Guitar Hero, now for the hip hop heads comes…Def Jam Rapstar! Headed by Kevin Liles and released on October 5th on Playstation 3, Xbox, and Wii, a gamer can now rap alongside some of the most classic songs in hip hop. If you don’t rap or sing, you can also build a company within the video game.  

Boasting the legendary label’s name would undeniably bring out the best. Some of the most recognized artists in the culture appear on Def Jam Rapstar’s play list, including Method Man, Redman, Slick Rick, and Tupac. Yet, with all of these celebrated artists, the good people at Def Jam Rapstar, also had to take it back to hip hop’s origin – the streets.  

On their search, they were captivated by a talented rapper who spit fire alongside a hip hop violinist. In more ways than one, this was definitely not the average hip hop group. Nevertheless, featured on Rapstar’s promotional ad is a Brooklyn-based duo by the name of Misnomer(S). And only one question seems to reside: who exactly are they?

Misnomers is made up of two Korean sisters.  Knewdles is the MC and S.O.S. (pronounced Sauce) is the violinist.   .

After exchanging words with them, they are two down-to-earth females who are fearless enough to live their dream as an Asian female hip hop group and “do it for the love.” Moreover, they’re the real deal and have been on their grind for a minute.  But don’t take my word for it.
