BCBG has long been one of my favorite contemporary clothing lines. Launched in the late 80’s and helmed by designers Max and his wife Lubov Azria, BCBG is well known for their fabulous party dresses at accessible prices.

STORY: “10 Fall Wardrobe Essentials Under $100” By DJ Kiss

Last month, during New York City Fashion Week, I attended BCBG’s Spring 2013 fashion show at Lincoln Center and was completely blown away. Inspired by the black and white photographs of Helmut Newton, Max and Lubov presented a stunningly beautiful collection that was both ultra feminine and completely modern.

The intricate 34-look collection featured dresses made of leather, lace and chiffon in a neutral palette of black and white with occasional pops of peach. Each look was anchored by gorgeous leather harnesses and paired with perforated ankle cuff leather pumps, which added an almost architectural feel to the otherwise delicate designs. The hemlines were considerably longer than usual adding to the overall collection’s subtle sexiness.

This collection just spoke to me and has ended up being one of my favorites of the season. I would definitely wear some of the darker dresses from this line to my nightclub gigs at Avenue or Mister H in NYC. The lighter dresses in white would be great to wear to some of my upcoming fashion gigs or on a date with my hubby, DJ M.O.S. He loves when I keep it fresh and flirty! I also can’t wait to get my hands on one of those leather harnesses!

I have a hunch that soon your favorite Hollywood celebs will be flocking to these dresses for upcoming red carpet appearances. This collection would work great for younger celebs like Keke Palmer and Selena Gomez, as well as chic red carpet veterans like Olivia Wilde, Kerry Washington, and Gabrielle Union.
