Gwen Stefani & Zoe Saldana Take Over Cannes (PHOTOS)

Gwen Stefani looked like a disco diva last night in Cannes!

The singer-turned-designer and mom rocked a Stella McCartney jumpsuit with a plunging neckline, big hair and a subdued smile as she walked the red carpet at a cocktail reception for "Snow Flower and The Secret Fan" yesterday. Stefani was accompanied by her musician husban Gavin Rossdale.

Meanwhile, a few hours and a couple meters apart, Dominican nymph and agile actress Zoe Saldana was a vision from 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' as she wore a modified black print floral dress by Vionnet at the "Tree of Life" party. 

"Tree of Life" is a 1950's sci-fi-fantasy film directed by Terrence Mallick. It stars Brad Pitt and Sean Penn and is in competition at the festival. Very little is known about the film, save that it's a period piece.

"Snow Flower and the Secret Fan" is also a period piece based on the novel with the same title. Set in 18th century China, it is directed by Wayne Wang. It also stars Fan Bing Bing and Hugh Jackman.
