Justin Bieber is tat-tat-tatted up, and it doesn’t look like he has any plans of slowing down on his body art anytime soon. But you know what they say, once you ink, you’re hooked for life.

The Biebs is currently on tour and backstage in Copenhagen, Denmark last week, Justin Bieber showed off yet another new piece of body art.

Much like the other tattoos he’s been collecting since he was 16, Justin’s newest addition came with some extra luck. Bieber tattooed a koi carp on his forearm next to his Chi symbol and owl tattoo. While the tat of the Japanese fish may seem a little random, the meaning behind it actually makes a great deal of sense for what Bieber is dealing with, coming of age in the spotlight.

More generally, the Japanese (and Bieber) associate koi with perseverance in adversity and strength of purpose. Because of its strength and determination to overcome obstacles, it stands for courage and the ability to attain high goals.

Sounds like a little extra help much needed by the singer right now. Check out his new tattoo above.
