Leave it up to Karl Lagerfeld to take something like Marie Antoinette’s short but fabled life and turn it into the theme for his 2013 resort collection.

The collection, which originally showed in Paris back in May, was accepted with open arms, as almost everything that Karl does is, but now the accompanying Marie-themed ad campaign has been released for the collection.
Karl used models Cara Delevingne and Saskia de Brauw for the photos, which he shot himself. Complete with feathers, blindfolds and headdresses, the campaign is in tune with the 18th century.
