Kate Upton may not be considered the prototype for the fashion model, but that hasn’t stopped her from landing not one, but two covers with the ultimate fashion bible.

The former Sports Illustrated model is the cover girl for the January issue of British Vogue, and she isn’t showing her infamous cleavage for the gig.

According to the magazine’s editor Alexandra Shulman, the selection of Kate for the cover was deliberate, as she wanted to choose a curvier model for the New Year.

“It’s very rare for a girl; to move from one area of the business to the other, largely due to the fact that fashion models are almost without curves, whereas swimwear girls are celebrated for them.

When I decided to shoot Kate for our first cover of 2013, it was to kick off the year with a young women who is not a stereotypical fashion model – although, let’s face it, she’s hardly a heffalump!’

Kudos to Kate for cat-daddying her way to two covers of Vogue and silently fighting fashion body image stereotypes along the way.
