A purple-haired Katy Perry is covering the September issue of Elle magazine and she looks sexily single and fiercely free spirited!

Gracing the cover in a pink, silver studded detailed dress, Perry dishes on relationships, her career and being a role model in the industry.

The 27-year-old pop star told the magazine:

"I obviously have a lot to say right now...I'm a woman who likes to be courted--strongly. Never say never, I guess you'd say. I'll let love take the lead on that."

The "Teenage Dream" singer also talked about the love she has for her career, revealing:

"I love what I do, and when I don't love what I do, I'll make a change...I can't be the candy queen forever."

While Katy's music has been heard and adored by music listeners of all ages, she makes it known that she can't be a role model to everyone.

"I have no regrets...I'm not going to be everything to everyone," said Perry. "I can't tell a person when it's time for them to have sex. Or if they should have a cigarette...But I try to live my life with a lot of integrity, and, hopefully, that sends a message."
