LaLa Anthony attended the taping of BET’s Black Girls Rock! that airs tonight, November 6, on BET.

LaLa looked wonderful in white on the red carpet in a floor length longsleeved gown.

We were lucky enough to catch up with her during the star-studded event and chopped it up about all things that rock including her son, her husband and of course her amazing dress.

Check out our exclusive below.

GlobalGrind: Who are you wearing?

LaLa: I’m wearing Alessandra Rich today.

In the spirit of Black Girls Rock, what do you hope young girls can learn from you?

I just want them to be self-confident. It’s not about the latest shoe and the clothes and the hair, it comes from inside. You can have all that and still be an ugly person. Have high self-esteem and confidence, and more importantly be a good person. That’s something my Mom has always told me. It doesn’t matter how big I make it, I’m always going to be a good person.

Not only that, but why does Lala rock?

I rock because what you see is what you get! I am who I am, I haven’t changed from 10 years ago. I appreciate all my blessings but I still stay humble and I think that’s the key to being a black girl that rocks. Don’t forget where you come from. Just as quick as you can get there, it can be taken away. I always remember that and I live my life by that.

How do you maintain looking so fabulous?

It’s important to be healthy, more than just wanting to look good, it’s important for your health. Find something that you like doing. I do a boxing class. I can’t do aerobics, I can’t be lifting weights all day, so I found something that I actually enjoy doing. Find something that you enjoy doing that’s also going to help you stay fit.

How important is this event to you?

This event is so important. It’s showing women that support each other. We’re happy for each other and we look out for other peoples’ careers and accomplishments. It’s important for us and for the younger generation.

Who are you excited to see here tonight that’s inspired u?

I’m inspired by Taraji P. Henson. She’s an amazing woman with so many accomplishments. Just to be here with her is exciting.

I’m also thrilled to see Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King host this whole event. Those two together, I can only imagine what that is going to be like.

What are some of your key tips to maintaining a great marriage?

I just put my marriage and my son first before anything and it’s a priority to me. My reality show isn’t about my marriage. I definitely protect that aspect of my life. Most importantly, my husband is my friend. A lot of times people are married or in a relationship and they don’t even like the person. My husband is really my best friend.
