Angela Bassett and Mary J. Blige are doing their part to make sure black history is remembered, particularly the history of two Civil Rights leaders: Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr. 

The pair are starring in the new film Betty & Coretta, the story of the widows of Martin Luther King and Malcolm X, and how they carry on as single mothers after the assassination of their husbands.

The film was previewed last night at New York City's Tribeca Cinemas, but not before Mary and Angela hit the red carpet to pose for a few photos.

Mary posed in a sultry winter white belted dress, while Angela played it safe in a floral A-line frock.
