The First Lady loves her some Jason Wu!

She wore a dress from her trusty designer, again, at President Obama’s State of the Union address last night. The shimmering crimson and black cocktail dress was finished with a flower brooch by Alexis Bittar.

This is the third time Michelle Obama has worn Wu at a historical presidential event.

For her debut as First Lady, she wore his white gown back in 2009. The designer, who was only 26 at the time, said he had no idea she was going to wear it.

Just a few weeks ago, she wore him again, this time a ruby-red custom woven faille coupe gown, when President Obama was sworn in for the second time.

Wu tells WWD that, “Mrs. Obama likes to keep her secrets. She surprised me again. She’s really good at it.”

No doubt his collaboration with the First Lady has given his label a major boost. Just this past week at NYFW, editors and critics in the front row were seen scribbling away furiously, perhaps speculating which look Michelle would be seen in next.

Last night, she was looking quite the host for her husband’s guests, who were all invited based on which of the President’s policies they represented. Parents and family members of the students from Sandy Hook Elementary, as well as the Aurora movie theatre shooting, were all invited by various Congressmen.
