Today we had the chance to check out the Noon by Noor show at the Studio at Lincoln Center.  The fact that the brand is called Noon by Noor and that the show also started at noon was probably the most interesting thing about it.

Were the clothes done well? Yes, everything fit and complimented the female form beautifully.

But otherwise it was boring and lacked innovation.

NYFW: Duckie Brown Is Sleek & Oversized For Their Fall ’13 Collection

Beginning with the drab color palette of burgundys, navy blues, greys and very little else, there was nothing that immediately grabbed my attention. The show was an endless array of pantsuits, floor-length dresses and knee-length skirts. If someone told us that the inspiration for this collection was a librarian from the ’90s, we would have completely believed you.

STORY: The African Scene: NYFW Edition by Makho Ndlovu

From the models’ hair to the music at the show, everything felt like we had gone a decade or two into the past. We also know that Noon by Noor may be perfect for the women in the Persian culture of Bahrain, where the brand’s designers, Noor Rashid Al Khalifa and Haya Mohammed Al Khalifa, are from. But if they are going to compete in the ever growing fashion market, there will have to be something more to keep the buyer coming back!

Trends spotted: All over prints, muted colors

Faces in the front row: Photographer Nigel Barker, Olivia Palermo, Model Selita Ebanks and Model Poppy Delevingne

Our rating: Noon by Noor played it a bit too safe for our taste but if we were going to recommend a brand to our stylish aunt, then this would be at the top of our list

Our favorite look: Army green pantsuit with cropped blazer and matching beanie
