Two weeks ago, as Beyonce came scurrying glamorously down the Met Gala red carpet nearly 30 minutes late, many assumed that the entrance was just a run-of-the-mill fashionably late one by a diva, but there was more to the story.

Vogue's Andre Leon Talley revealed some secrets about Beyonce's attendance at the 2012 Met Gala while giving a speech at Savannah College of Art and Design. 

Apparently, Bey had no intentions of attending the Gala, as we presume she wanted to spend some time at home with baby Blue, but once she saw the Givenchy gown, (that took 350 hours to make!) she just could not resist.

Andre told the crowd: 

“Beyonce was not slated to come. She decided to come last minute when the dress [which he later said took 350 hours to sew] arrived at her house. She tried it on and then she said, ‘okay, I have to come.’ She did arrive at 8:55 and the ball had already started but it didn’t matter because she is Beyonce.”

See that star power? Who else could walk up on a red carpet almost 30 minutes late and steal the show? Beyonce can, of course.
