The makers of GIG-IT are getting pretty innovative in both the virtual world and in the real world. Last night, the social media company celebrated the release of GIG-IT, a new social game coming to Facebook in May that will let players create 3D concerts featuring virtual versions of famous musicians, along with music from the game’s library available to purchase within the experience.

And what better way to kick off a music-based game than with a star-studded party featuring some of the biggest hip-hop stars out?

That’s exactly what GIG-IT did with a New York City event last night, where artists like Ne-Yo, Nas, Rick Ross and Jamie Foxx got a first look at the software that will allow them to not only be selected as players, but also help them sell concert tickets and merchandise in the real world.

Will you be playing GIG-IT via Facebook when it drops? We may just give it a try.

Jamie Foxx was on the scene, zipped all the way up while rocking his Adidas.

T-Pain pulled up on the scene with his dread locs missings.

Rick Ross was on the scene in a DGK (Dirty Ghetto Kids) bomber jacket and New Balance sneakers. No Reebok here.

Sean Kingston was on the scene with heavy wrist bling in a Givenchy top.

Little heartthrob Cody Simpson looked dapper in a blue blazer.

Marsha Ambrosius in the scene in prints.
