The relationship between artists and musicians has long been strong, so much so that albums are constantly released with artwork done by a famous artist.
After a 5 year hiatus, the cover art for the Red Hot Chilli Peppers' latest album, "I'm With You," (above) was released today and it was done by British artist Damien Hirst.
Hirst best known for his $100 million "For The Love Of God" diamond encrusted skull sculpture and "The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living" installation, a shark suspended in a tank of formaldehyde.
Regardless of genre, visual art always works hand in hand with music: Chris Brown and Ron English, Kanye West and George Condo, Madonna and Mr. Brainwash, Travis Barker and Pushead come to mind.
After the break, check out other album covers made by artists who are established in their field and who bring visual art to the masses.
