Rita Ora went from being a new Roc Nation artist to an absolute style maven, a touch Jay-Z seems to master.
The "R.I.P." singer's personal style is funky, colorful and always involves a bold lip, and Vogue UK played it close when they featured her in their December issue.
Shot by Scott Trindle, flawless Rita poses in red lips and neon nails for the fashion mag in an array of geometric heavy looks.
Check out some excerpts from the interview below:
On her influence as a style icon:
“All these girls had tattoos of my name on their arm, – said Rita. – Girls with blonde hair and red lips. I couldn’t believe the effect I’d had!”
On flying out to meet Jay-Z for the first time:
“I told him [Jay Brown, Roc Nation's co-founder and president] I would need to save up a bit and he started a laughing. He probably thought I was being cute or something,” – told Rita. When she finally meet Jay-Z, “I was in so much shock, the only thing I could do was act smooth.”
And Rita shares her pre-fame fashion inspiration:
“I knew about the high-end clothes, but I never had the money to get them. So, I’d make them. I’d get clothes and cut them up."
The flawless spread will almost make fans forget that Rita's pants failed her when she stepped on stage in Germany last night, popping her zipper and showing the world what she was working with.
