The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo had its NYC premiere last night at the Ziegfeld Theatre with stars Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara taking to the red carpet.

Rooney looked fantastic in a black and sheer Prabal Gurung Spring 2012 dress with matching black Louboutin heels.

We love the back of Rooney's dress because of the illusion of bare skin. We also love the sharp angles at the shoulders, waist and thighs.

This is a look that suits Rooney perfectly, one we've seen on her as she traipses across the country and the world in promotion of this very disturbing David Fincher-directed film.

Craig plays a journalist investigating a 40-year-old crime. For research purposes, he hires Rooney who plays Lisbeth Salander, a hacker with a dark and scary past and... a dragon tattoo.
