Contrary to everyone’s favorite health and lifestyle trend of practicing yoga, man candy Ryan Gosling is set in his own ways of winding down from his busy schedule.

When the Gangster Squad actor is not starring in blockbuster mega hits or making everybody sweat on the February cover of GQ Australia, he enjoys nothing more than knitting to relax. That’s right. As if we weren’t heartbroken enough as it is?

In the latest issue of GQ Australia, Gosling explains how he learned the craft from old ladies on the set of his 2007 indie flick Lars and the Real Girl. “If I had to design my perfect day, that would be it,” he tells the magazine.

When asked about his latest project, Gangster Squad, the 32-year-old, blue-eyed heartthrob reminisces about childhood and Dick Tracey:

“It was fun. When I was a kid I was kind of obsessed with that movie Dick Tracy. Burger King had all this Dick Tracy stuff and I collected all of it, and I had the posters and I watched it on a loop. Obviously this is a very different movie, but it seemed to have some of the sensibilities of that. So that was fun for me.”

He cherishes his memories at Burger King, knitting, and smoking Latina, ladies. Gosling is not only a man of well-rounded interests, but he does it all while always keeping an active goal in mind. After all, he explains, what’s the point if you don’t “…get something out of it at the end. You get a nice present. For someone who wants an oddly shaped, off-putting scarf.”

Wonder if he knits for Eva?
