Matching bikini sets are a thing of the past.

As summer swiftly arrives, more celebrities than ever have been seen rocking mismatched bikinis while having some fun in the sun. The trend was first spotted in 2007, when Sienna Miller sported a separate set bikini and ever since, the trend has continued to catch on.

Celebrities such as Rihanna and Megan Fox have been spotted wearing bikinis that definitely aren't a set, but with their sassy sartorial choices, the oddly paired tops and bottoms work wonders in a sea of all too similar swimsuits. 

Some celebs mix solids with prints, two different colors, or even two different prints.
