Mr. Porter is one of those websites where you really can't go wrong. The clothing they curate from so many of today's most popular brands makes Mr. Porter an easy go-to when a man is trying to step his wardrobe game up.
The website not only sells clothes, but at times acts as an online magazine, set up to give customers the ability to shop the look their favorite actor is wearing. Most recently, Mr. Porter styled Vincent Kartheiser, best known for his role as the ever-dapper Pete Campbell on AMC's Mad Men.
The accompanying article touches on Vincent's career, the similarities between him and his character, and how he handles the fame that comes along with being on one of TV's most popular shows.
When asked if there are similarities between him and his character Pete Campbell, Vincent answered:
A whole lot! He's perpetually unsatisfied, and that's a trait I share," he says. "Peter is a little man, and so am I. Little physically, but also in the game. Remember, a lot of our similarities come down to the creator, Matthew Weiner, knowing his actors. He writes to people's strengths. So he might look at me and say, 'Oh Vinny has an inferiority complex.' Well Pete has one too!
When asked if he knew what type of person he thought he would become, Vincent responded by saying:
I thought I'd be an adult! I remember looking at 30-year-olds and thinking, 'He smells like an adult, the things he does are adult.' But now I realize that they're just teenagers who got older. You might do adult things like shave your face and pay your taxes, but you have a lot of the same insecurities, a lot of the same socially awkward abilities and, um, not-awkward abilities.
